Exploring Cajun Culture

Event details Guest speaker Dan Guillory, Professor Emeritus of Millikin University, will present a program on Louisiana Cajun culture. Focusing on its music, language, and history, he will use maps, poems, stories, and music to share this distinct part of America. Growing up in a bilingual family, Guillory learned to speak Cajun French and is currently working on a book on this topic. Event requirements No registration required. Free. This is an inclusive program, welcoming individuals of all abilities. Rock Springs Nature Center is an accessible facility.

Tour Homestead Prairie Farm, see the heirloom vegetable and herb gardens, play with vintage toys and games, and at 6:30pm, enjoy a performance from Wild Columbine, a group that plays traditional music from the 17th-20th centuries.
